Graduation Requirements
The following requirements apply to all programs; however, some departments may have additional requirements.
- All required and elective courses must be completed as prescribed in the catalog of record of the candidate for graduation.
- A major 2.0 grade point average must be maintained.
- Minimum reading requirements must be completed for each program. A minimum of DRE 097/RED 080 or equivalent is required for certificate and diploma programs. DRE 098/RED 090 or equivalent is required for all degree programs.
- All financial obligations to the College must be cleared.
- A minimum of 25 percent of semester hours, with a minimum of nine semester hours in the major area, must be earned through Wayne Community College curriculum enrollment.
- Completed applications for graduation must be received by the posted deadline. NOTE: The application cannot be processed during registration periods. Request for duplicate diplomas should be made to the Office of Admissions and Records. Applicants for graduation who are walking must purchase their caps and gowns. Back-dated diplomas will be prepared at a cost of $20. Two weeks should be allowed for processing. Upon recommendation of the Department Chair and approval of the Vice President of Academic and Student Services, specific graduation requirements may be waived.
Students graduating from diploma or associate degree programs with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average will graduate with Honors. Grade point averages will not be rounded. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions and Records
