Applying for Financial Aid

Applying for aid is as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov. NEW - Complete the FAFSA using your phone.  Download the mobile app from the Apple App Store or from Google Play.
  2. Once the FAFSA is complete, the student will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR).  The SAR contains the information reported on the FAFSA including the Expected Family Contribution (EFC).  The EFC is used to determine the types and amounts of federal and state aid a student may be eligible for.
  3. The Financial Aid Office receives this information and uses it to award federal and state financial aid, need-based scholarships, and federal work-study.
  4. The Financial Aid Office sends an award letter that lists the type of aid and amount of aid the student may be eligible to receive. The amount of aid the student may receive is based on eligibility, enrollment, and the availability of funds.  NOTE:  Some types of aid are limited.
NOTE:  Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid as early as October 1.  Students must apply for aid each year.
