Applying for Financial Aid

Applying for aid is as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov. Students can apply beginning October 1st. Students must re-apply for financial aid every year.
  2. After the student applies, he/she will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR contains the information reported on the FAFSA including the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The Financial Aid Office will receive this information and it is used to determine eligibility for federal and state grants, scholarships and work-study.
  3. The Financial Aid Office will send a paper and electronic award letter that lists the type of aid and amount of aid the student may be eligible to receive. The amount of aid the student may receive is based on WCC’s cost of attendance, Expected Family Contribution (EFC), eligibility and enrollment status.
